How to Join

Since its founding in Many 2004, the National Association of Passport and Visa Services has been actively representing the interests of the U.S. passport and visa services industry before the U.S. Passport Services Agency and foreign consulates, promoting to the traveling public the benefits of using our members, and increasing consumer and business confidence in using our members to obtain their expedited passports and visas.

Membership in NAPVS is a cost-effective way for a passport and visa expediting service company to be more successful. Complete details of the benefits our members receive can be obtained by clicking on About NAPVS above.

The new dues structure applies commonly adopted dues criteria for member-based associations. These criteria are:

  • Dues based on a relevant measurement of a company’s ability to pay, in this case total revenue from all passport and visa service activities and transactions of a company,
  • The use of a sliding scale so that smaller the size of a member firm then the less it has to pay, and
  • The sliding scale in which the dues amount as a percentage of member revenue declines as the revenue of the member company increases. So while a company in the lowest category pays the smallest amount of dues, this dues amount is a slightly larger percentage of the small members annual revenue than occurs for the other higher dues categories.

To help better understand the cost of membership dues to your business, you are encouraged to compare your annual dues with your fee for same-day passports or visas. For example, a company whose annual revenue results in annual membership dues of $650 is able to cover this dues with only 5 same-day passports with a $175 fee. The cost savings or revenue increase from several of our accomplishments explained in About NAPVS more than covers the dues companies will be required to pay.

The application below is sent to Rob Smith, our executive director, who is not with a passport and visa services company, and thus will be the only person at NAPVS who will know the dues amount selected by member firms. He is a professional association manager. Your dues information will be kept private.

A new member must confirm in an e-mail to the NAPVS executive director that the firm agrees to abide by the requirements of the NAPVS Code of Conduct and that all of its employees who handle passports and visas are thoroughly familiar with this Code.

Please note that the NAPVS Code of Conduct also requires a member to  conduct background checks for all employees and any contractor that handles customer applications in order to ensure that are free of any federal or state criminal convictions as required by the Hand-Carry National Guidelines. NAPVS has made arrangements with two nationally-recognized screening firms to conduct for members specific criminal database searches that meet the National Guidelines.
